The present invention describes a pyrotechnic linear actuating means for a belt turnbuckle comprising a piston/cylinder unit, a gas generator (9) to actuate piston and ignition unit (25) to actuate a gas generator (9) propeller (13, 15). Gas generator (9) is configured as a multiple-stage gas generator having several propellers (13, 15) separated from one another in its interior, and each can be separately individually or at the same time actuated.
