In the case where an existing body frame (1) of an existing passenger conveyor is used to install a new passenger conveyor, in order to facilitate maintenance and inspection for a handrail driving device (35), a new body frame (11) of the new passenger conveyor having a larger inclination ( theta 2) than an inclination ( theta 1) of the existing body frame (1) is incorporated into the existing body frame (1), which is installed to obliquely bridge upper and lower floors (F1, F2) so as to install the handrail driving device (35) above the existing body frame (1) and to prevent the handrail driving device (35) from being covered by the two body frames (1, 11).
