Torque converter bridging mechanism damper

A torque converter (1) bridging mechanism (8) damper has a piston (9), a powered element (10), a helical spring (13) and associated holder (40). The helical spring is fitted between the piston and the powered element. The holder is fitted to the powered element and has a play-adjustment range which is loosely incorporated into the end of the helical spring. It limits the radial outwards-directed spring-end movement resulting from the spring play.
