A therapeutic agent for enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli infections, comprising as the active ingredient a compound represented by general formula (I), (wherein X represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which can safely prevent or treat infectious diseases caused by Escherichia coli capable of producing verotoxin and hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS).
