An outer casing is fitted around a vehicle transponder, electronic security coded engine management system, additional code reader, scrambler or the like to deter an unauthorised person from overriding or bypasssing or tampering with the protected system and thus to deter theft of the vehicle. The casing is a passive feature and thus will not interfere with any of the normal functions of the vehicle.
