PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the new subject complex comprising a complex of (+)-S- adenosylmethionine and 3'-azide-2',3'-dideoxynucreoside (salt), without having toxicity, having antiretrovirus activities and used for treatment, etc., of AIDS. SOLUTION: The subject complex is a new compound comprising a complex of (+)-S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) of formula I and 3'-azide-2',3'- dideoxynucreoside of formula II and/or a salt thereof, without having toxicity, having high antiretrovirus activities, synergistically manifesting an inhibiting effect against replication of human immunological deficiency virus(HIV) 1 and 2, especially inhibiting reverse transcriptase and useful for treatment, etc., of an HIV-infected patient and complex disease corresponding to AIDS including nervous disorder. The compound is obtained by mutually reacting a salt of (+)-S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) with 3'-azide-2',3'-dideoxynucreoside in the presence of an aqueous solvent.
