A preferred cyclic polyester mixture contains at least one cyclic polyester oligomer containing 15 or more repeat units. Cyclic ethylene terephthalate oligomers are particularly preferred. The cyclic polyester oligomers may be converted to high molecular weight linear polyesters by heating in the presence of a catalyst./!
