PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent an operation failure caused by sticking of a foreign object in a solenoid valve in a highpressure fuel pump, the sliding part of a plunger or a check valve in an outlet side. SOLUTION: A high-pressure fuel pump reciprocates a plunger 36 by means of the rotation of a pump cam 42 attached to the camshaft of an engine so as to absorb fuel in a fuel pressure room 37 and pressurize/discharge the fuel, and controls a fuel discharge amount by controlling the conductive timing of a solenoid valve 19 provided in the suction side of the fuel pressure room 37. A filter member 30 is installed in a fuel stay part 18 around the fuel inlet 28 of the solenoid valve 19 so as to cover the fuel inlet 28. At the time of sucking fuel, the solenoid valve 19 is opened, fuel supplied from a feed pump side is passed from a suction port 12 through a fuel suction passage 16 into the fuel stay part 18, then this fuel is passed from the fuel inlet 28 through the inside of the solenoid valve 19 while being filtered by the filter member 30, and then sucked into the fuel pressure room 37. |
