In a segmental-key selector clutch, the key 17 is located in an axial groove 12 in the drive shaft 1, and rocked about a pivot 10a, by a control rod 20 received in the shaft, from a neutral position within the shaft to project either of its end portions 17a, 17b, above the shaft surface to engage recesses in either of two rotary parts mounted on the shaft, to lock them thereto. As described, the invention is applied to a planetary gearing, Fig. 1 (not shown), to lock either the sun gear (3) or the planet carrier (6) to the shaft (1). |
