PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical alkaline battery in which an electrolyte is restrained from being splashed during actuation of an explosion preventive mechanism of a battery due to erroneous use, and a device to be used is hardly damaged. SOLUTION: A resin made sealing body 6 has a return protrusion wall 6b along an outer peripheral rim thereof, a circular thin wall part 6e is formed on a protrusion wall for return this is outer than an opening end of a battery case 1, and a gas exhaust hole 7a of a negative electrode terminal plate 7 is interrupted by a protrusion wall tip end 6f on a tip end more than the circular thin wall part 6e. This protrusion tip end 6f, with the battery being sealed, is shaped so that a void is ascertained between the protrusion tip end 6f and the gas exhaust hole 7a. With this arrangement, when the gas and electrolyte in the battery are discharged, a majority of electrolyte stays in the void between the gas exhaust hole 7a and the protrusion wall tip end 6f, only the gas of the lowered ejection gas pressure and slight electrolyte are discharged outside of the battery, therefore, the electrolyte can be restrained from being splashed. |
