PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a monochromic printing speed remarkably higher than that in a conventional device, by setting the image forming interval between the rear end of a monochrome toner image and the top end of the next monochrome toner image smaller than that between a multicolor toner image and the next multicolor toner image. SOLUTION: When monochromic prints are consecutively made, the formation of the first image is completed and then, the next image is formed with an image forming interval X1 for A-3 size monochrome. This interval is set as small as possible, to increase the throughput of printing. In other words, in a monochrome print, the formation of the first image is completed and then, the next image is formed at an image forming interval X3 for A-4 size monochrome equal to the image forming interval X1 for the A-3 size monochrome. Therefore, the average of the intervals among the consecutively formed images becomes extremely smaller than that at the time of making full color prints, and the image forming operation completion time can be drastically shortened. |
