PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method, whereby the whole area of a fused part of a tube can be directly inspected at the spot where the tube is installed. SOLUTION: A ring-shaped scan device 3 is detachably fitted to the outside of a joint member 2. Every time the scan device 3 rotates once on the circumferential face of the joint member 2, the device 3 moves in an axial direction of the joint member 2 by a predetermined pitch. An overflow-type or a jet-type probe is set inside the scan device 3. The probe inputs approximately 5MHz ultrasonic waves perpendicularly to the joint member 2 with a predetermined cycle. Detection signals of ultrasonic wave echoes are sent to an inspector 4. The inspector 4 opens, at a predetermined timing after the probe projects ultrasonic waves, a gate allowing only an echo A from an interface of the joint member 2 and a fused part to pass, detects a signal passing the gate, calculates a position of the fused part on the basis of the detection signal, and develops the result in the scanning order by the scan device 3. |
