PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve developing stability when many photosensitive planographic printing plates are developed with a developer which is repeatedly used by using an automatic developing machine by measuring time when a sealing means does not sufficiently function and replenishing the developer according to the measured time. SOLUTION: A developing tank 40 is covered with a cover 5 whose upper part is the sealing means. When operation is started, the developer is housed in the tank 40 by keeping a prescribed liquid level because developing replenisher and dilution water are respectively supplied from a developing replenisher tank 41 and a dilution water tank 42 in prescribed proportion. The temperature of the developer is maintained to be the prescribed temperature by a temperature maintaining means such as a heater 43. When the photosensitive planographic printing plate 10 is fed into a developing part 4, the developer is made to circulate in a developer circulation path returned to the tank 40 from the aperture of the bottom part thereof through a filter 44 and a pump 45. Thus, the time when the sealing means does not sufficiently function is measured and the developer is replenished according to the measured time. |
