FIELD: heat exchange equipment for power engineering chemical, petrochemical, food-processing and other industries. SUBSTANCE: heat exchange tube includes smooth cylindrical sections engageable with confuser-diffuser sections; diffuser opening angle ranges from 50 to 160 deg and confuser convergent angle ranges from 50 to 180 deg. Ratio of areas of full passage section of cylindrical portion and minimum passage section at points of articulation of confuser and diffuser is no less than 1.5. Confuser-diffuser sections may change into diaphragms located at angle relative to axis equal to half diffuser opening angle. Heat exchanger process may be intensified through adjustment of pitch between confuser sections, flow rate of working medium, ratio of areas and diffuser opening angle within the above-mentioned ranges. EFFECT: intensification of heat exchange process with no increase in pressure differential. 4 cl, 6 dwg
