PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain excellent recognition even in a production line where various kinds of products are mixed. SOLUTION: A CCD camera 3 equipped with a zoom lens 2 optically capable of variable magnification by movement control is set on a moving stage 1. At the time of recognizing a product, the moving stage 1 itself is moved to an L direction and an H direction, and the image pickup center of the CCD camera 3 is positioned at the center of the logo of a product. Next, at the time of image picking-up the pertinent logo, the variable magnification is operated by the above mentioned zoom lens 2 so that the size of the logo to be image picked-up can be the same as that of the logo of a template stored in the memory of a personal computer 4. Then, correlation between the image of the image picked-up logo and the picture of the logo of the template is calculated, and when they are different, an error is generated for the product. Thus, the recognition of the various kinds of products can be attained by a single image formation system by operating image pickup by moving the CCD camera 3 on the moving stage. Also, the variable magnification of the logo is optically operated so that image deterioration can be prevented, and recognizing performance can be improved. |
