PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor highly sensitive and accurate to a detection gas which holds an oxygen gas concentration in a sample gas chamber nearly constant, specifically, low. SOLUTION: A sensor 1 consists of a sample gas chamber formed of a solid electrolyte body, an oxygen pump cell 21 set in the solid electrolyte body, a pump-type oxygen sensor 22 and a detection cell 3. An electrode 218 of the oxygen pump cell 21 and an electrode 229 of the pump-type oxygen sensor 22 are inactive electrodes, on the other hand, electrodes 38, 39 of the detection cell 3 are active electrodes. The oxygen pump cell 21 maintains the concentration of oxygen gas in the sample gas chamber at a constant value on the basis of a signal value from the pump-type oxygen sensor 22. |
