<p>A high speed matrix printer using e.g., printing wires, has a protective circuit to prevent damage to the machine arising from mechanical malfunction of its operational components. In a representative circuit three electro-mechanical mutually interlocked driving systems control different individual functions of the printer via control transistors which are connected through to base lines via base series resistances. Each base line is connected to an OR-gate whose output is connected both to a repeatably triggerable timing circuit and the input of a flank triggered data flip-flop between which a 'discharge' unit is connected.</p> |
