PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of a shudder during a speed change. SOLUTION: A device has a throttle opening sensor 50 detecting a throttle openingθ, car speed sensor 51 detecting a car speed (v), shift output means 8 selecting a speed shift stage based on the throttle openingαand the car speed V to generate a shift signal corresponding to the selected speed shift stage, hydraulic control device 40 engaging/disengaging a friction engaging element based on the shift signal, and a shudder judge means 82 judging whether a shudder is generated or not during a gear shift. The shift output means 81 is provided with a shudder generating region avoiding means 83 selecting a speed shift stage based on a throttle openingθand a car speed (v) except a shudder generating region in the case of generating a shudder during a gear shift. |
