PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the surface burning-on and boundary burning-on after the same patterns are displayed over a long time by using oriented films having the adsorptive power to the impurity ions lower in pixel electrode forming regions than in the regions between pixel electrodes. SOLUTION: The pixel electrodes PO0 to PD2 and data bus lines D0 to D3 are formed on the front surface of a glass substrate 100 formed with active elements and the oriented film 21 is formed to cover the same. A common electrode CE and the oriented film 22 are formed on the surface of a glass substrate 200 on the opposite side thereof and liquid crystals 24 are injected between the oriented films 21 and 22. The oriented films of the pixel parts PD are formed of the films having the low adsorptive power of the impurity ions and the oriented films of the non-pixel regions between the pixels are formed of the films having the high adsorptive power of the impurity ions. For example, the oriented film having the low ion adsorptive power are formed and the specific regions thereof are irradiated with energy rays, such as far UV light, by which these regions are activated and are substd. with the oriented films having the high ion adsorptive power in the case of forming such oriented film. |
