PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide reference signals for correcting vertical stripe shape fixed pattern noise without forcing a manual operation to a person who operates a camera or using a mechanical shutter. SOLUTION: In the power supply initial stage of a device a picture element transistor 11 is reset by outputting substrate plusesϕVsub. from a timing generator 22 immediately before reading picture element signals and thereafter, the picture signals are read from the picture element transistor 11 through an operation switch 17 and held in a capacitor 18 by immediately raising operation pulsesϕOP in a state without signals by light incidence. Thereafter, horizontal scanning pulsesϕH are outputted from a horizontal shift register 21 for a horizontal video period, the horizontal switches 19 are successively conducted, the signals of the capacitor 18 are successively outputted and thus, the reference signals for correcting the fixed pattern noise in a vertical stripe shape are obtained.
