Remote copier workstation

The workstation transfers digital data corresponding to an image, to another workstation over a communications network. The workstation comprises a private exchange system for the transmission of digital data of at least one facsimile apparatus. The fax apparatus scans the image to be transferred and transfers the corresponding digital data over a conductor and a facsimile computer dialled accordingly, to the workstation. The facsimile computer transmits the data in response to selected functions over the communications network to another workstation.
