摘要 PURPOSE:To enable an engine to be operated in its normal use output point under the limit value of a cylinder maximum pressure, by adjusting the opening of an automatic scavenge air release valve, provided in a supercharger, through a control panel on the basis of a detection signal from a combustion gas pressure detector provided in the engine. CONSTITUTION:An engine, providing in the outlet side of a supercharger blower 4 a pipe line communicating with a utilization source of compressed air, provides an automatic scavenge air release valve 10 to be arranged in said pipe line. While the engine provides a combustion gas pressure detector 11 to be arranged in the outlet side of an engine cylinder. And a control panel 13, being given as its input a signal from the detector 11 showing the pressure of combustion gas and an index of required steam utilization degree in an equipment 12, outputs an operative signal to be given to the automatic scavenge air release valve 10. In this way, in order to perform economical operation by increasing the maximum pressure of a cylinder to a limit value to decrease a rate of fuel consumption when the engine is in operation in its ordinary use output point, the control panel 13 adjusts a valve opening to a release side of the automatic scavenge air release valve 10 on the basis of the detection signal from the detector 11.
