The apparatus housing has horizontal top and bottom panels and vertical side panels, with vertical edge pieces (2), fitted at the side edges of the side panels. The ends of the edge pieces are fitted with corner pieces (4), inserted in two alternate positions. Each of the corner pieces has two functional surfaces (4.1,4.4) selected for use in dependence on the insertion position of the corner piece relative to the edge piece. The functional surfaces may provide a closed corner surface or an open recess for insertion of a hinge element etc.
