PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a polyester fiber excellent in adhesion to matrix rubber in a rubber compound, capable of reducing proportion defective in a belt-forming process and suitable for especially reinforcing of a power transmission belt. SOLUTION: This method for adhering a polyester fiber comprises a step for imparting the first treating liquid containing an polyepoxide compound having two or more epoxy groups, a blocked polyisocyanate compound and a vinylpyridine-styrene-butadiene rubber latex to the polyester fiber and heat treating the imparted fiber at 180-240 deg.C for 60-180sec, a step for imparting the second treating liquid containing resorcin, formalin and a rubber latex (RFL) in a twisted code state and heat treating tame imparted code at 180-240 deg.C for 60-180sec, and a step for imparting the third treating liquid containing the RFL to the code and heat treating the imparted code at 140-170 deg.C for 120-240sec. |
