PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the width of a conveying groove of a feeder on the basis of the relationship of the length, the width and the thickness of a chip so that the chip may be surely conveyed in an upright attitude in which its width is in the vertical direction and the length is in the longitudinal direction, when the rectangular and cubic chips are conveyed in an alignment by the chip feeder. SOLUTION: A chip (t) is a rectangular cube (for instant, a chip register) having the length L, the width W and the thickness T, and the size ratio is L<W<T. The width W1 of a conveying groove of a feeder is set to the relationship; W1 >2W, W1 >T, W1 <1/2L so that the chips (t) may be conveyed in an alignment in an upright attitude in which its width W is in the vertical direction and the length L is in the longitudinal direction, and therefore, the chips (t) are surely fitted in the upright attitude in which the width W is in the vertical direction and the length L is in the longitudinal direction, and aligned in series, and conveyed. |
