Union between metal plate and plastics component - has plastics part located in gap between plate and retention fillet

The joint between two machine components, connects a metal plate (1) with a plastics part (2). The plate has a retention fillet (3) with several projections, the fillet is actually welded to the machine component (1). The plastic part is suitably held in the gap containing the projections between the first component and the retention fillet. In the plastics part are recesses (8-11) into which the projections (4-7) of the fillet can engage.
