摘要 <p>An information processor of a high reliability and a high recording density, and a blue, blue-purple blue, and purple blue semiconductor light emitting device of a low threshold value current density suitably used for the same are provided. An optical information processor of a high reliability and a high recording density which enables a moving picture, such as a high-definition television picture to be recorded and reproduced satisfactorily. A barrier layrer in a quantum well active layer of a semiconductor light emitting device is doped with n-type impurities at a high concentration. Alternatively, the face orientation of the quantum well active layer is a plane inclined with respect to the (0001) plane. Thus, the threshold current value of the semiconductor light emitting device can be decreased. A gallium nitride compound semiconductor layer device is a typical example of this semiconductor light emitting device.</p>
