The wheel comprises two shell-like sections one comprising the wheel spoke centre (3a) and the other the rim base. The wheel spoke centre has stiffening ribs (61-65) which are formed on its inner face (60), each rib being located in an area between adjacent air holes (5) and/or in an additional area between the screw sockets (68) and the air holes. The rim base may also have stiffening ribs on its inner face and which are formed as crossing webs between adjacent air holes, and annular ribs concentric to the wheel hub.
