The system has a suction brake dust collector (2-5) for drawing off the dust produced by rubbing the brake pads against the brake discs. The brake dust collector has at least one funnel-shaped dust receiver (5). The brake dust collector has a suction opening lying close to the brake disc (7) or drum on one end. The other end is connected by a suction pipe (4) to a collector (3) which has an electric motor driven pump to produce the necessary suction vacuum.
