<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stent which can properly cope with a curved blood vessel part by providing a series of mutually connected tubular bands having first and second edge parts, making the respective bands discontinuous, and connecting the respective bends to each other without a cut line by superposing the first end part on the second end part. SOLUTION: A stent 10 to structurally support a wall of a blood vessel 12 is a slender tube formed of a series of tubular bands 22, and the respective bands 22 are connected to each other by first and second slender belt pieces 24 and 26. That is, the respective bands 22 are formed in an almost circular shape, and are formed so as to have first and second edge parts 28 and 30, an inside surface 32 and an outside surface 34, and overlap each other so as to adjacently contact with each other in a part. At least a single piece of the bands 22 contains first and second tabs 52 and 54, plural receiving means 56 and a projecting rib 58, and can be fixed in a completely expanded shape of the bands 22 and in an intermediately expanded shape between a contracted shape and the completely expanded shape.</p> |
