PURPOSE:To enable a uniform grinding by a method wherein a grinding operation is performed while a respective one of blade edges of a special cutter having blade edges of different angles is simply aligned by an alignment member piece mounted at a holder part of the cutter. CONSTITUTION:Mounting base plate 27 on the base block 1 is arranged such that it may be moved in a rightward or leftward direction perpendicular to a movement of a grinder device, and the base block 1 is provided with a stopper 60 for use in setting a feeding distance of a grinder wheel. In order to grind a special cutter, a cutter 70 is fixed at a leading end of an outer cylinder mounted to the holding part 35, then the mounting piece is moved in a forward or rearward direction in response to a diameter of the cutter 70 so as to adjust a position of the leading end of the alignment piece 53. The alignment piece 53 is always forced in a forward direction by a spring, so that a leading end of the piece 53 is contacted with a side surface of the cutter 70, and a position of the mounting piece 47 is adjusted by an adjusting bolt in such a way as it is aligned with a horizontal line. With this arrangement, a uniform grinding may be performed. |
