PURPOSE:To clean the surface of a photoreceptor adequately by making the rotational frequency of a cleaning brush higher when a target image is cleaned than when other parts are cleaned. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning device consists of a cleaning brush 1, and a brush driving motor 2. The moment or shortly before a target image part 4 meets the cleaning brush 1, an input voltage to the brush driving motor 2 or input frequency is increased to increase the rotational frequency of the motor 2, and consequently the cleaning performance of the brush 1 is improved to remove high-density sticking toner from the target image part 4 neary completely. |
