The invention relates to a mounting element for dimensionally rigid motor vehicle inside panelling, in particular for motor vehicle prefabricated inside roof lining. It consists of a base part (4) connected to the inside panelling (3) and of a head part (2) which is connected to the vehicle body (1). These two parts are freely displaceable with respect to one another approximately in parallel with the position of the panelling surface and, in this way, compensate different dimensional changes in the vehicle body and in the inside panelling without mechanical stresses building up.
