PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain excellent image quality by always surely controlling gradation reproduction through the working life by forming a thin layer of developer adapted to an image forming state. SOLUTION: Nonmagnetic one-component developer 11 is housed inside a developing device 7, and a developing sleeve 8 opposed to the surface of a photoreceptive drum by providing the interstice of 0.1mm is freely rotatably supported. A doctor blade 9 abutting on the developing sleeve 8 by constant line pressure is freely rotatably supported on the upper side of the developing device 7. Developer carried between the developing sleeve 8 and the doctor blade 9 by the rotation of the developing sleeve 8 is triboelectrified at the time of passing between the developing sleeve 8 and the doctor blade 9, so that the thin layer of the developer is formed on the surface of the developing sleeve 8 by image-force. The doctor blade 9 possesses the fan-shaped cross section of 1/4 circle, and the cross section is quadri-sected by combining plural kinds of silicone rubber having mutually different hardness. |
