PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce animation images with high picture quality, while securing picture quality which is almost equal to the animation images of a little movement even for the image of violent movement by controlling data reading operation for reading data out of a recording medium, so as not to omit or destroy encoded data in the middle of the animation image reproduction. SOLUTION: When encoding and recording a previously prepared animation image source 3 onto an optical disk, first, animation image signals 4 are converted into image data 6 by an A/D converting circuit 5 just by (n) frames and recorded in a frame memory 7 later. An image encoding circuit 8 generates encoded data 9 by encoding the image data 6 by (n) frames in the frame memory 7. A data transfer speed calculating circuit 10 calculates the average data amount of the encoded data 9 and outputs data transfer speed information 11. Then, the read of data from the recording medium is controlled, so that the encoded data 9 to be successively decoded when reproducing the animation images can be prevented from being lacked or destroyed in the middle of the animation image reproduction. |
