PURPOSE:To generate a color television signal with good picture quality by converting a horizontal profile signal of a green signal into a rectangular wave signal and using the rectangular wave signal to gate a subcarrier inputted to a modulator. CONSTITUTION:The green signal obtained from a solid-state image pickup element is fed to an LPF13 and a 1H delay line 14 and the outputs are given to a subtractor 15, from which a horizontal profile signal is generated. The horizontal profile signal is fed to a rectangular wave generating circuit 32, and a rectangular wave corresponding to the profile is generated. The rectangular wave signal is fed to a gate circuit 34 via a delay circuit 33, where the signal is gated in a form that the continuous subcarrier signal from a synchronizing signal generating circuit 30 is eliminated during this time. The gated subcarrier signal is fed to a modulator 28 via a phase shifter 31. That is, since the subcarrier at a part corresponding to a part near the black level at the leading edge of the horizontal profile signal is eliminated and the modulation output component is lost from the part, no coloring is generated and a color picture with good picture quality is obtained. |
