An annular support (8) is attached to the fixed element of a bearing and supports a sensor mounting head (9). The support has a radial receiving channel (10) for the mounting head to slide into and also an elastic tongue (12) located opposite to the receiving channel (10). When the mounting head (9) has entered the receiving channel (10) a flange (13) on the elastic tongue (12) engages with a transverse groove (14) on the mounting head (9) to prevent inadvertent radial disengagement. Transverse bosses (20) on the mounting head prevent incorrect entry into the receiving channel (10).
