Support apparatus comprises a first member 50 movable between positions permitting and preventing movement of one or a plurality of pivotally mounted members 16, 20 to and from an operative position(s) and means for holding the first member in one or all of said positions. In one embodiment the apparatus comprises a rod pod for supporting fishing rods, the rod pod having an elongate body 12 with a first member 50 at each end thereof freely rotatable about the axis of the tubular body and clampable in any desired position. Each first member may be freely rotatable on the threaded shank (61,Fig.5) of a bolt engaging a threaded aperture in an end face of the tubular body (24) or be freely rotatable on a threaded shank member (44,Fig.3A) fixed in the end face of the elongate tubular body. The first member is clampable in any position by tightening the bolt (or nut). The or each first member comprises a slotted collar 50 rotatable to bring its slots to and out of register with the ends of the legs of the rod pod and any bank rod carried thereby. The outer surface of each collar is preferably provided with means (56,Fig.4A) for engaging the legs and/or bank rod or supports therefore to indicate to a user that they may be moved to their operative positions. The support apparatus may also be used for supporting a camera (Fig.6A) or a table top (Fig.7). |
