PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a practical blue light-emitting organic electroluminecent element (organic EL element) long in life, high in luminous efficiency and excellent in thermal stability. SOLUTION: An organic compound layer having at least one organic blue light-emitting layer is nipped with a pair of electrodes, and the organic blue light-emitting layer comprises a fluorescent substance and an organic host substance having a fluorescent quantum efficiency of >=0.3 in a solid state. On the maintenance of the monomeric blue light emission of the element, the glass transition temperatures of the all organic component layers are >=75 deg.C, and the glass transition temperatures of the organic compound layers brought into contact with the organic blue light-emitting layers are >=105 deg.C.
