The invention relates to a method for producing an 3-amino-2-hydroxy-1-propanol derivative of general formula (2) <IMAGE> (2) (wherein R1 represents alkyl, aralkyl or aryl; R2 and R3 independently represent hydrogen or an amino-protecting group, provided, however, that both R2 and R3 are not concurrently hydrogen) and an oxazolidinone derivative derived therefrom.
