PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high discharge capacity and high productivity. SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using a carbon material capable of doping/undoping lithium in a negative electrode 2 and a composite oxide of lithium and a transition metal in a positive electrode 1, a mixture of a lithium manganese composite oxide (LiMn2 O3 ) and a lithium nickel composite oxide (LiNiO2 or the like) is used as a positive active material constituting the positive electrode 1.
