The pump rotor (2) is in a radial housing (21) which is separate from the gearbox (19) and motor (20) housings. The pump rotor drive shaft (3) runs in bearings (6,7,8) and carries a large gear wheel (9). A number of identical electric motors (11) are fastened to the housing (21). The motors have rotor shafts (14) which carry small pinion gears (17). The pinion gears mesh with the periphery of the large gear (9). Seals (15,17) are used to seal the gearbox from the pump housing and from the motor housings (20).
