The invention relates to a non-cantilevered equatorial mounting enabling the entire field visible to the naked eye to be observed at a given instant. It consists of a frame 5 and a circular disc 1 having two points of bearing which are formed by rollers 3 of respective axes 17a and 17b of supports 9 and of a third point of bearing formed by a point 4, via beams 2. The disc 1 of rotation axis alpha includes a recess 21 allowing free passage for the optical tube 6 of optical axis 7. This optical tube 6 rotates about the axis delta via bearings 8. <IMAGE>
