An autocatalytic bath, containing nickel sulphate, sodium hypophosphite as reducing agent, acetic acid as buffer and traces of lead as stabiliser, additionally contains a citrate (preferably sodium citrate) as sequestering agent together with a gluconate (preferably sodium gluconate) as catalyst and stabiliser. Also claimed is a process for autocatalytic deposition of a Ni-P alloy by immersion of a substrate in the above bath. |
