INTERFACE FOR MULTI-CHANNEL SELECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the interface for multi-channel selection that is for multi- channel selection for a satellite digital broadcast in which a switching code is assigned to each remote control key dynamically and a content of broadcast is grasped by using an icon or the like. SOLUTION: Program caption information and icon information as multi-channel attribute information are provided to an electrical program guide(EPG) data, a multi-channel attribute information extract means 17 of a receiver extracts the information, a multi-channel selection remote control code index means 18 assigns a remote control key to each multi-channel dynamically and generates a table in cross reference between the multi-channel and the remote control key. A synthesis image consisting of icons, a program caption and remote control key numbers are displayed by the receiver and any of the multi- channel is selected by the remote control operation of a viewer.
