<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a large emission amount by uniforming the emission characteristics of a field emitter array, and heighten an applying upper limit voltage. SOLUTION: When a voltage of a specified value or less is applied between gate electrodes 2 and cathode electrodes 1, electrons are emitted only from the cathode electrodes 1 having a low emission start voltage, and cap material 8 provided on the protrusion portions of an anode electrode 7 is irradiated therewith, the cap material 8 is spatter-evaporated, is stuck to the cathode electrodes 1 so that caps 9 are formed. Thereby, emission characteristics between the respective cathode electrodes 1 become uniform, and the emission start voltage and the applying upper limit voltage of the whole field emitter array are heightened.</p> |
