PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the power saving method which adjusts the timing of a power-saving mode start by judging the possibility of the restarting of copying operation even when an operator interrupts the copying operation. SOLUTION: When input operation is done (step S706), a counter starts clocking the time (step S704) and when the clocking by the ounter reaches A.P.O.(auto power-OFF) time (step S728), the A.P.O. time is extended to prolong the power-OFF time on condition that a human body is detected nearby before the operation device (steps S720 and S724), and the power source is turned off (step S736) unless the human body is detected nearby before the operation device (steps S720 and S724). |
