PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent motor loss from increasing by controlling the motor such that the torque component current and the flux component current follow up a torque component current command value and a flux component current command value, respectvely. SOLUTION: A torque component current command operating section (a) 5 operates a torque component current command value from the sum of a torque command value and a torque command operation error. A flux component current command operating section 4 operates a flux component current command value based on the magnitude of a maximum voltage command value, a voltage command value and the torque component current command. A tree- phase command operating section 10 operates a tree-phase command value based on the magnitude command value and the phase angle command value of voltage vector. According to the arrangement, flux current and torque current are controlled to sufficient necessary levels and the loss of an AC three-phase motor can be prevented from increasing.
