PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigation apparatus by which information is not provided excessively and which can provide necessary information accurately by a method wherein the order of priority of a plurality of kinds of information is set so as to correspond to at least one out of a running state, a running purpose and a running environment. SOLUTION: On the basis of position information from a GPS antenna 11 and on the basis of map information from a CD-ROM changer 19, a navigation controller 17 retrieves a proper route up to a designated destination, and it performs a guidance operation by a display on a display 8 and by a voice output from a loudspeaker 6 for guidance. Then, when a plurality of pieces of information exist simultaneously, the order or priority is given to important information or information is regulated under a prescribed condition. The regulation of the provision of the information is decided according to a running condition at a time when the information is provided. That is to say, running conditions are sorted, and a map which prescribes the regulation of the information is set to the respective running conditions. On the other hand, a reference item is displayed to a driver regarding the respective running conditions, and the selection of the map can be estimated. |
