PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease transmission of UV rays as much as possible and to prevent deterioration of a resin coating film by UV rays by incorporating a light-controlling material having a photochromic function. SOLUTION: This pipe 3 consists of a transparent or translucent synthetic resin containing a light-controlling material, and for example, polyethylene is preferably used. The pipe 3 is used by inserting an optical fiber unit 4 comprising one or plural numbers of optical fibers comprising an optical fiber 4a coated with a resin coating film 4b. As for the light-controlling material, a photochromic functional material which colors by irradiation of Light, especially UV rays, and which decolorizes when irradiation is stopped. In this case, the pipe 3 is colored by the effect of the light-controlling material having a photochromic function included in the pipe itself, and this prevents transmission of light, especially UV rays. Thereby, deterioration of the resin coating film 4 by UV rays can be suppressed. |
